It will be a backyard pool party, too, so bring your suits and towels if you wish. Beer, Wine and a Go Big Red cocktail will be provided, as well as water, iced tea, and sodas.

This is a “Members Only” Event. Fortunately, there is still time to renew or join. RSVP with names of attendees(s), and best number to reach you to confirm, to events@huskersnarizona.com.

Annual Membership Meeting Saturday, July 31 at 10:00 a.m.

Huskers "N" Arizona

photo of balloon release

It will be held at Moon Valley Grill at 15414 N. 7 th St, in Phoenix.

If you have already renewed your membership, you can pick up your membership card there. You also can renew that day. All current, new, and renewing members will receive a food ticket and a raffle ticket.  Hope to see you all there!

Please invite your Husker friends who plan to join to come too. We hope to be signing up new and renewing members at the meeting.  Having an annual meeting with our members is an important part of maintaining our non-profit status, so there will be a brief business portion to our meeting.

We are trying a new RSVP method. Moon Valley Grill needs a fairly accurate count to have adequate staff and food on hand to meet our needs.
Click this link to register and reserve your food ticket(s).

“Do I have to go to the meeting to sign up?”

No, you can join or renew on our website at any time.  The sooner you join, the sooner you will get your membership cards. However we had to wait until the watch-site contracts  and game-day schedule were finalized, wait while they get printed , then mail them out, so it will not be immediate.  There is a good chance we will have our membership cards by the meeting.

“ I have paid but haven’t received anything yet, when will I get my card?”

For those who have already joined/renewed this year, we had nothing to send out because we didn’t print a directory last year and the membership cards were obsolete. We are hopeful that we will have our new membership cards by the meeting. Thanks for your patience.

Huskers vs. Gophers

 From Huskers.com:

The Matchup
Nebraska returns to Memorial Stadium to complete its regularly scheduled 2020 contests this Saturday when the Huskers play host to Big Ten West foe Minnesota.  Game time at Memorial Stadium is set for 11 a.m. CST….Nebraska comes into the matchup with Minnesota carrying a 2-4 record following a 37-27 road victory over Purdue on Saturday….

  2. Whiskey Rose is no longer an official watch site – they opted not to pay their renewal dues.

Now about the game

Excerpted from Huskers.com

“The Matchup
Nebraska heads back on the road for the second straight week on Saturday when the Huskers travel to West Lafayette, Ind., for a Big Ten West matchup with Purdue. Game time at Ross-Ade Stadium is set for 11 a.m. CT (Noon, local) with television coverage on BTN….

The game at Purdue is part of a three-game December slate to finish the season. Following this week’s matchup, Nebraska will play host to Minnesota on Dec. 12, with a Big Ten East crossover opponent to be determined for Dec. 19.

Purdue will bring a 2-3 record into Saturday’s game after a 37-30 loss to Rutgers this past weekend. The Boilermakers have been involved in tight games throughout the season. Each of their first five contests decided by seven or fewer points, including three close losses over the past three weeks.”

Our featured watch-site for this Saturday will be our newest watch-site, The Craftsman. Let’s give them a warm Husker welcome by having a good turnout!

Note Change: Huskers at Iowa Friday Nov. 27th (not 28th as punch card says) at Connolly’s – Kickoff 11:00 a.m. AZ time

Huskers "N" Arizona
From Huskers.com
"Nebraska comes into the game at 1-3 on the season, following a home setback against Illinois. The Huskers turned the ball over on their opening play from scrimmage and committed five turnovers in the loss. Nebraska continued to show a strong running attack against the Illini, rushing for 215 yards in the contest.

Iowa comes into Friday's game with a 3-2 record and riding a three-game winning streak. The Hawkeyes opened the season with close losses to Purdue and Northwestern, but have been dominant over the past three weeks, defeating Michigan State, Minnesota and Penn State, with two of those wins on the road."

Connolly's logoCome join us at Connolly’s as we encourage our Huskers to bounce back after last week’s setback. Also, if you feel safer outside, there is outdoor seating at Connolly’s.

Note: it’s a change from the original schedule and your punch cards – Friday, not Saturday.
