Calling Husker golfers to play in the Big Ten Golf Classic on Saturday, May 12th
Calling All Huskers Golfers!!
Huskers N Arizona is looking to recruit as many Husker golfers as possible to play in the Big Ten Golf Classic on Saturday, May 12th 2018 at Troon North Golf Club. The Big Ten Golf Classic promises to be a fun day of golf and Big Ten camaraderie for all who participate while benefiting the Make-A-Wish® Arizona and Big Ten Scholarship funds.
The BIG 10 GOLF CLASSIC SCHOLARSHIP will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place schools which totals $3,000. The remaining tournament proceeds will be awarded to Make-A-Wish® Arizona which makes dreams come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions. In 2016, the Big Ten Golf Classic raised over $10,000 for scholarship and charities.
In 2011, Nebraska’s first year in the Big Ten, Nebraska had 30 players participate in the Big Ten Golf Classic and we came in first place. Since then, Nebraska’s participation has slowly declined, with only 14 golfers playing in the 2016 tournament and we have come in 2nd and 3rd over the last few years, due to lack of Husker participation. Ohio State has won the tournament for the last 3 years largely due to their participation averaging around 35 players every year. We think it is time for the Huskers to dethrone the Buckeyes!
The scoring is based on how many players are supporting a specific University, so the more players we have to represent Nebraska, the more chance we have to win the $1500 scholarship for the University of Nebraska. Please remember that The Big Ten Golf Classic is a non-profit golf tournament, with all the proceeds going to Make-A-Wish Arizona.
So Husker Fans, please sign up online at http://www.bigtengolfclassic.com to support this great event and bring the Big Ten Golf Classic trophy back to the Nebraska Cornhuskers!
GBR!
